This Here Is An Introduction.
We yearn to understand the world—it’s complexities, subtle intricacies, and all of its intricate details, so we subscribe to the saying: "Question everything." The most informed decisions are those made after researching straight facts and listening to various viewpoints...without discounting the magical possibilities of the irrational and unexplainable.
Overall, we think that a lot of politics out there are awfully [yawn]…
But we also understand that "political" issues affect each and every one of us. And we're not just talking about legislation. To us, being "political" means being pro-active—figuring out how the world operates and daring to live in ways that steer our culture in a less destructive and exploitative direction (without relying solely on the government to make the changes we wish to see). It means finding joy in those aspects of life that are wonderful but seldom celebrated. Positive personal life choices can be catalysts for change and sometimes the making of such choices on a mass scale can lead to legislative changes.
There's another saying: "There's nothing more powerful than an idea whose time has come." Here are some ideas that have personally improved our lives and hopefully the world in which we inhabit. We are aware that some of our own actions are seemingly, or outright, in opposition to some of the ideas that follow. For example, we ship products by trucks that use fuel to send our packages—products of the global economy. But we hope that, in different ways, we are working towards increasing the quality of everyday life and the world’s future.
