8th Annual DC Sweet Charity

Craving Classic Literature

Mandarin Oriental Hotel
Washington , DC
Renee Masoomian

Renee Masoomian collaborated w/Lotus Cake Studio to participate in Sweet Charity, a benefit for The Heart of America Foundation, a charity that combines service learning and literacy to support the needs of at-risk children. This year’s theme was classic literature. The following is what came to mind (Mind the Gap?), with a slight twist on this classic story.

"The Princess & The Pauper"

"Renee Masoomian and Lotus Cake Studio put a twist on this feast to famine story with a princess doused in sugar bows, neck piece, and third course pearl decor on skirt and boudice - all topped with a scrumptious sugar paste crown. Meanwhile, the pauper struts from the slums in chocolate rag bloomers, boudice, and an apron sullied by a life in a chocolate sweet shop. Take a lesson from their tale and taste their eye candy, but don't eat too much or you'll get your just desserts."
