Passing ideas through the eye of a needle, Renee Masoomian presents five lines from an intercourse of eras and unorthodox materials. In the netherworld of her imagination she creates clothing that can spark introductions and satisfy the senses. Seamlessly stitching the past into the future, Renee experiments with new materials and reinterprets older styles. From classic European cuts to futuristic club-wear and recycled accessories, each collection outfits a different mood.

By utilizing recycled materials, we literally wear our values on our sleeve. In a production era of squandered resources and exported labor, we rebel from these norms by incorporating used materials and by producing our wears locally, in Philadelphia.

After graduating in Fashion Design, Renee was ready to tear off to NYC or London to work for some high-end fashion company or another. However, after seeing Renee’s work, Dean quickly took action and reeled her back to Philadelphia so they could start their own fashion company.

Renee sits at the drawing board eating chocolates from foreign lands while sketching outfits and constructing garments. Miyoko cat oversees the operation from her perch that rests above Renee’s workspace. Dean drinks copious amounts of hot cocoa from his goblet while engaging in business matters and coming up with absurd project ideas. Alie cat co-pilots the chair next to his and often jumps from the floor to Dean’s shoulder to grab food held by his teeth.

Renee and Dean are always engaging in the fine art of eating but usually wind up biting their own hands, as the foodstuffs are often snatched away by… THE CATS.
